Mitchell Allen Group and AGS Custom Graphics Honored with Excellence in Printing Award

Mitchell Allen and AGS Custom Graphics were honored at the Gallery of Superb Printing during the Northeast Ohio Craftsmen Club’s 54th Annual Ben Franklin Ball. The Gallery of Superb Printing recognizes excellence in printing that is produced in Northeast Ohio, and encourages creative effort within the industry. The collaborative effort between AGS Custom Graphics and Mitchell Allen, a Cleveland-based advertising and marketing communications agency, was recognized with the Gold award for the “Sun Control Professionals Welcome Kit” that was created and produced for Tri Vantage. The kit was also one of 10 pieces selected by the judges to be featured in the Judge’s Gallery. Those 10 winners were then submitted for competition in the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen’s (IAPHC) 36th International Gallery, which has become one of the premier printing events in the world.

The duo was presented the Gold award for the “Sun Control Professional Welcome Kit” in the Pocket Folders with Inserts Four Color Process category. Mitchell Allen designed the kit for their client, Tri Vantage, an international supplier of specialty fabrics and hardware, while AGS Custom Graphics printed the kit at their printing facility in Macedonia, Ohio. The kit promotes the benefits and offerings of their Sun Control Professional program to their customer base. The multi-page spiral bound booklet presents a program overview, customizable dealer self-promotion materials, printed samples such as trade advertisements, a recruitment brochure, a dealer kit and consumer product literature. The booklet, along with other program materials, has proven very successful for Tri Vantage in helping to increase their professional customer base by 72%.

The Gallery of Superb Printing winners were honored at the 54th Annual Ben Franklin Ball held January 23rd at the Tangiers Grand Ballroom in Akron, Ohio.

The Northeast Ohio Craftsmen Club, or NEOCC, was known for more than fifty years as the Akron Club of Printing House Craftsmen. Originally chartered as a chapter of the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, the founding members set out to support the International objectives at the local level. The club provides graphic arts and related industry professionals an opportunity to network and discuss current industry trends. It does this through education programs, informational meetings and research.
